$275 adoption fee. Sweet little Theresa was found underneath a trailer, seeking comfort and shelter, as this little one year old girl sadly was pregnant, and looking for a safe place to deliver her puppies. We rescued her in the nick of time, and one week later she delivered 5 healthy bundles of joy! Theresa was a great mother, but said no way Jose to doing it again, so she is now spayed and ready to find her forever family! She is a sweet little girl, active, LOVES to play with other little dogs, and when playtime is over, she is ready to cuddle and watch TV. She is a sweet 9lb girl who sheds a little, but not much. Animal ID: 2887Bertie (female)

Brussels Griffon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTERED IN A PRIVATE HOME IN THE PHOENIX, ARIZONA AREA. Bertie is just one of those girls who wants to have fun!. Bertie is around two years old now and still acts like a puppy at times. This black and tan girl is one of five dogs that came from a hoarder's home, where she lived on concrete floors in an unhealthy situation. The owner realized that they were not being fair to these dogs and agreed to turn them over to rescue. She was tormented by fleas and itchy skin when she was first rescued, but a trip to the vet and some TLC has fixed all that. Now her pretty coat is a reflection of her beautiful inner self. At just under 26 pounds ... (Read More)with a natural tail that shows her joy, Bertie is full of enthusiasm. Maybe because she did not get enough attention at her first home, she is quite attached to being with people. While she is a mixed breed, she looks very Griff and fully embraces the Griffy creed that no human should ever be alone. She is happy to snuggle with you, play with you, and be your best friend. She certainly doesn't care if you have another dog or two. All she wants is a chance to be a part of your life. Bertie is going to need some special attention. She does well in the confines of her home environment, but needs to be socialized in the outside world. Her foster mom has encountered some physical limitations, so Bertie has not gotten much outside exposure. If you have patience, you can be sure that you will be rewarded with a loyal and loving companion. After all, that's her job! Bertie is a little leery of males and will need a patient male who will allow her the time to adjust. She is taking nicely to lead training and uses pee pads, and she is familiar with a doggy door. Like all dogs in transition, she will need to be shown the ropes of house training and adjusting to her new life when she goes to her forever home. We would suggest her new home sign her up for an obedience class. This will help her socialization skills as well as let her know that life does have some rules to follow. Bertie lives to play, and she loves to be loved. Whether it is a toy or her foster mom's five-pound Griff, she gives it her all. When she's done playing, she sleeps like a rock. Play hard and sleep hard - that's her motto, and boy does she enjoy a soft bed after living on cement! Bertie is currently being fostered in Arizona. She is up to date on her vaccinations. By the time she goes to her forever home, she will be spayed and microchipped. Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger. Animal ID: 2889Johnny (male)

Brussels Griffon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

JOHNNY IS BEING FOSTERED IN A PRIVATE HOME IN THE PHOENIX, ARIZONA AREA. Johnny is a 12-pound youngster who had the misfortune to be born into a hoarder's home, a person who probably loved him, but couldn't provide for his needs. He and his sister, Bertie, were among the five dogs that were rescued from a situation that offered no socialization, guidance, toys, or bedding. This black and tan bundle of love is nearly one year old, and is only now discovering the fun of toys, the joy of playing with a human, and the comfort of a soft bed. His natural tail thumps with pleasure when he is praised, and he shows his gratitude with loving looks. ... (Read More)He is sweet and submissive, and he enjoys being petted and being by your side. Johnny has very distinctive looks with his black and tan coloring. His ears do their own thing, with one standing and one dropping, but we could say that this is what gives him his charm. Shy and sensitive, he hopes the fact that he may not be fully Griff will not be held against him. He's already overcome so much, what with a terrible flea infestation that had to be resolved, and the upset that came with losing the only home he'd ever known - even if it wasn't a very good home. We feel that Johnny would do well in a quieter home where there is not too much hubbub or noise. He doesn't like a fuss, and he probably would prefer to live with no more than one other dog. He would do best in a situation where there is usually someone home. After all, it is a Griff's job to be the center of attention, and Johnny is prepared to do just that. All he needs is some love and patience, and he is ready to be someone's main man. He has made a great transition to his foster home, and he grows more confident. He is doing well with pee pads, doing his potty outdoors, and is willing to take a higher level course in house training. He just needs to get to his forever home so that he can give all his love and devotion. Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
